Foreign Investors Roundtable with the President and the government
Around 60 foreign investors active in our country, had the opportunity to directly submit their opinions to the President of the Republic, Nicos Anastasiades and the Ministers of the Government, in the framework of the first foreign investors roundtable, which was organised jointly by GNORA Communication Consultants and IMH on 27 June 2019, at the Presidential Palace.
The investors, who are members of companies that have either invested in Cyprus or have established their headquarters in our country, had an exclusive, closed meeting with the President and the Ministers of Finance, Energy, Commerce and Industry as well as the Deputy Ministers of Shipping and Tourism, where they discussed Cyprus’ status as an attractive investment and headquartering destination.
GNORA’s Managing Director, Andreas Hadjikyriacos, and the CEO of IMH, George Michael, coordinated the discussion. At the same time, the investors were given the opportunity to directly submit their ideas, opinions and concerns on Cyprus’ economic and investment environment to the President and the ministers. On their part, the government officials derived significant ideas and proposals, directly from the foreign investors who trusted our country.
In his welcome address, Nicos Anastasiades reported that this roundtable will be institutionalised and will expand to include foreign investors who are active in other sectors of the economy. Mr Anastasiades stressed that he truly believes that the investments of the private sector and its significant contribution to the economic recovery of Cyprus, as well as the creation of synergies between the private and public sector, can boost Cyprus’ position as a stable and competitive destination for doing business.
